Serge Homs participe a la création de l’Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts d’Abidjan, mission confiée en 1959 par André Malraux à son père, le sculpteur Marcel Homs Grand Prix de Rome.
Durant 5 ans, Serge Homs enseigne le dessin et l’anatomie.
De retour en France après 10 ans d’Afrique l’artiste s’oriente vers un art monumental dans le registre de « l’Abstraction Symbolique ». De nombreuses réalisations, en dialogue avec l’architecture et les grands espaces urbains conduisent Homs à rencontrer de grands architectes tels que Balladur, Duffaut, Pingusson, Schoebel, Parent... Ainsi que le sculpteur Paul Belmondo.
La partie la plus récente de son oeuvre concerne un ensemble de sculptures animalières « Les Créatures de l’Apocalypse ».
Cette recherche se situe dans l’univers de « la figuration fantastique ». Evènement inattendu dans son parcours, ce bestiaire, qui s’exprime dans une dimension intimiste, n’exclu pas pour autant, le passage à l’échelle monumentale.
Distinctions : Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

Serge Homs
Serge Homs participated in the launching of the National School of Fine Arts in Abidjan, a school that his father Marcel Homs, a sculptor who had gained the Grand Prix de Rome, was assigned by André Malraux to create. Serge Homs taught art drawing and anatomy for five years in that school.
He came back to France after ten years in Africa. Then he moved to a kind of monumental art in the register of "Symbolic abstraction". As his sculptures have often been achieved under architectural or town planning projects, Homs has had the opportunity to meet major architects such as Balladur, Duffaut, Pingusson, Schoebel, Parent… He has also come to know sculptor Paul Belmondo.
The latest part of his work is devoted to a set of animal sculptures called "The Creatures of Apocalypse".
This artistic study belongs to the world of fantastic figuration. Unexpectedly, it shows a bestiary of an intimate dimension, which does not prevent the sculptures from being monumental.
For the international influence of his work, Serge Homs has been decorated in the Order of Arts and Letters.
